Default Seas poly or paper?

Am looking at replacing my mids in my 3 way project (currently Audax PR170zo) which aren't as smooth as I expected.
The tweeter Im using really requires xover at 3k or higher, cabinets are already built & running so I'm stuck with 6.5" for now.
I am looking at either the Seas P17rex/p or Seas cb17rcy/p for several reasons, 1 is availability, 2 is smoothness of response (not many midbass can get to 3k easily) - any preferrences for poly or caoted paper? At the moment I'm leaning towards the poly.

I don't know these drivers, but I know I don't like polycones (maybe composites are OK), and neither do the people I know.

Poly does measure well. IMO the paper sounds better damped.

I did have the same opinion of poly cones, however, the Seas p17rex apparently don't sound like most poly cones - from what Ive learned they are stiffer than your average poly cone.
Still hesistant to try them, & this morning am leaning towards the coated paper, until I saw this....

Then again I will probably change my mind by this afternoon!

That new driver looks nice, but we'll have to wait for the specs.
Poly making a comeback?

hadn't seen that seas driver before, looks good. reminds me of the g17rex that i have lying here ready to use. but cost about as much as well. sorry i cant help you out on drivers though, when i had your problem doing my PC loudspeakers i went for some cheap paper drivers made somwhere in china, and those did it's job well enough. in the frequencyrespons part anyways.
