Hi !
Is that speaker good? Can I consider it a Monitor Speaker or not? I'll be apreciated if someone tell me about these speakers, I want to buy a pair of them ! Check it out: http://www.jbl.com/home/products/pro...at=NRE&ser=NRE ![]() I want power each one with a two 3886s bridged ! Waiting for feedback ! edit: Forgot one thing... I'll power it with 3886s, but it will be used for many amplifiers that I build, not only with those 3886s, so I need a speaker that can "tell me" if the amp is good quality or not, is this suitable for it? Here it costs 665 Us Dollars the pair... I think that they can be using our ignorance to sell this at this exorbitant price... It costs about 150 dollars in USA right?? Maybe a 300 US Dollars speakers not so famos here like JBL can cost the same thing, or less! I want you to tell me the truth about these speakers, and if possible recomend another one if this speaker is not good ! Another thing.... The seller told me that now JBL is manufacturing speakers at Malaysa and China, and that those speakers manufactured there aren't good as the speakers manufactured in California. And this pair that I saw is from California ! Can't wait to have something realy audiophile here at home! Thank you !! Waiting for feedback! |

This being a DIY forum, you won't find much advice here on which commercial speakers to buy - we build our own. If you are interested in building your own set of speakers, you will get all the help you could possibly want.

sdclc126, I agree with you at all.
I'd like to build my own speakers, because it much cheaper and fun ! The problem is, I CAN'T find any decent driver here in brazil... Those drivers that I see here all the time, I never found one for sell here in brazil... Just H-Buster, Bomber and things like this Maybe I should think about import the drivers ! Maybe it will be cheaper than buy a commercial speaker anyway ! Thanks! |

One possibility - there are lots of good drivers for sale all the time on eBay, new and used, so if the sellers will ship internationally (make sure to check first) you might want to check it out.

I've been checking some mayor speaker producers for distributors in South-America and there are indeed very little. The only one I could find after some searching on the web is a Visaton dealer in Argenita: http://www.staraudio.com.ar/
Good luck! BTW, I believe a friend of mine owns the JBL's you referred to. I'll check with him and get back to you about this later. |

Depending on your budget, you can put together a very revealing set of speakers from Selenium.
I say that and I'm from Canada. Selenium seems to be getting recognition for a quality built speaker and good bang for the buck. I have a number of their pieces and have no complaints. Oh wait, yes I do, the dust screen on one of my compression tweeters came loose. Big deal. |

I visited Selenium site, and I only see products for P.A. !
There's no smooth tweeters for example... Which selenium drivers do you recomend me? I'll apreciate if you can put the link to me ! Thanks !! |
