Default Check my Odin X-over...

I have buildt the Seas Odin kit, but the tweeters are very loud. Could you x-over experts check the x-over? I use Electrocompaniet AW220 for the tweeters, and another AW220 for the W18 elements. Since i have biamped i now have lowered the signal to the tweeters x-over from the amp, but it would be best if i didnt have to. The schematic are here: http://www.seas.no/kit/FILTER_THOR_ODIN.pdf

Default X-over looks fine

Hello,
Do you use a (very) short connection between PA and Xover? If so try connecting a series resistor with L3. It has to be a small value... about 0R22 will work. (well, it did for me... )

Pading the tweeter further down by increasing R2 would be my second option....but you can combine the two methods...

Good luck

Graks, are you using identical amps for both tweeters and low speakers? If not you will probably find that they don't have identical gain. In fact it would be unusual for them to have identical gain (and input resistance).
In my biamped system I drive the tweeters via my NAD receivers main amp (25W) and the bass via a home made 55W/ch amp. I had to add a twin pot to the crossover output high output so I could reduce the level of the tweeter to match the drivers. It now sounds pretty good. (I may replace the pot with a 'L' pad using 1% resistors at a later date to reduce noise once I am confident that the level is correct)
Cheers, Kimo

I have identical amps for the woofer and the tweeter, both are EC AW220 . On the amp for the tweeter i have reduced the gain since they have adjustable output gain.
