a mate is selling 2x scoop bass bins made of inch thick plywood, covered in black rexine[black pvc, with 'crocodile like feel']4 pole speakon sockets,12 gauge of wire,15 inch grilles and clamps and most importantly 2x Precision Devices[PD 156] 600w rms drivers, with 4.5 inch voice coil. All for £200 the lot
How good are the PD156 drivers,is it worth spending £200 on something i don't know how old it is,and could be damaged. But i think the cabinets alone are worth £200,because they are made of 1 inch thick plywood, but i don't think for that price the plywood is marine baltic-birch. Also if the drivers are damaged in any way,how much is the recone kit for the PD 156 [pair] I wonder how the speakers have been treated though, the grilles are a bit rusty and dented, and the cabinets ,although no corner is smashed, the cabinets is full of scrathes and small dents. I hope the drivers haven't got rusty or stored in damp or wet conditions.I guess a dented grille flakes off the paint,so it goes rusty. Please could you advice me,whether or not to buy them. p.s. i can't open them[eg remove the drivers or grille],but my mate allows me to test with music. |
