I have in my posession the following drivers which I would like to incorporate into my next project and am after some recomendations as to what to do with them......clean answers only please!
2 off SS 9500 tweeters 2 off Vifa P13 2 off Seas H571 I guess I will use the tweeters I have used the drivers in a couple of home designs based on winISD playing and I have been left a little dissappointed in the results I must say, mainly due to limited crossover design I expect. This has got to the point that at the moment I think my "budget" mission m71's sound best, which can not be right for the quality of the drivers used in the diy designs. looking for the someone to show me the light , hoping that someone can help me out, many thanks, Mark |

Well, you've made the major step, realising you can't just throw good drivers in a box and expect the results to sound good.
The first thing I would do is get some testing SW, a measurement mic, and actually measure the parameters and frequency response of your drivers. That will give you a solid base on to which you can start a new design with confidence.

Great thanks for your input, after a quick search i have found speaker workshop.
I had not considered doing all design work myself, i had expected a link or reference to a design, a whole new perspective. I will see how I get on, is SW Ok to use for this sort of thing or is there a "prefered" package for this sort of thing? thanks M |

Speaker Workshop is a little clunky to use, but does everything you need. If you do a search, you will find a link to Jay Butterman's manual, required reading as the documentation that comes with the package is a little "limited".

The H571's look to be good for an EBS alignment in a 30.5 L box tuned to 35Hz, that'll get them down to 40Hz at about -4dB down.

Speaker Workshop is accurate, powerful and free. The clunkyness PM referred to is related to the learning curve and its intuitivness. If you get past those (hence the manual, and also check out Claudio Negro's website) then it is everything you'll need.
