yes, it does affect frequency and decay.

most bose products are low cost/quality so the system interaction

(system as a whole) might be less than wonderful.

i've used a lot of commercial sound componets, as i get them

often for free.

i've run speaker arrays on flat baffles,wired in series, from 25,

and70 volt taps of comercial amps.

do the math first !

study about commerecial sound before you start hooking things

up.

might be best to keep the BoSe speaker around, so others might

examine the poor quality inherient in BoSe products

Fully 50% of BoSe contains, 'B' and 'S'

If you want to know how much is the transformer and how much the driver, just isolate the driver and run it from a normal low impedence amp to test.
