Hello All,
I am in desperate neeed of a Coil Value, on the Midrange Crossover Board, inside my Alon Model IV Loudspeakers. There are 3 Coils on the Midrange Board. The same Coil Burned on Both Midrange Boards. so I have no Comparison, to try to figure. The Coil that I am after the Value of, is the only Coil on the Board, that is in Series with a 4 Ohm (5 Watt) Resistor, which is also burnt. Are there any Schematics available for the Crossover Boards of the Alon Model IV Speakers? I cant seem to get the help from Alon, which is now called NOLA. Dislexia......changed names for some reason. But at any rate, I really need this help badly. I have alot of Money invested in these speakers. Please, someone, Email me, or Post here, if you can help???? Thankks, Ray email: rayr0683@comcast.net

Hi Ray,
Did you think about posting your x-over (pics and/or circuit schematics)? That would help if you can not get help from anybody else. An engineer would be great or the manufacturer. Now, for those 5W resistors, from what I am looking at, and depending of ampli output (say a 300 WRMS), they should be no less than 100W... The coils... what can you do with them? Did they melt?... Also for the power wattage, that gauge might not be enough. I bet was the/one in parallel with the MiD, they can get to 600W+ peak with the same ampli.?! Mr. Alon sould help you with this one, if you find him. |

Anyway rayr20683,
Since you never answer me. For that coil, can you unroll it and measure the lenght, and try to make a new one with same dimensions and gauge material? That will give you (just that simple) the same inductance (if the materials are identical and dimensions l/w/h). I would make two, so that the two speakers will always sound equal. You can try to find Mr. Alon another day. ![]() Have Fun |

Anyone have any specification information on this speaker? Driver sizes or driver composition? Frequency response (graph?
