Jason, have you done a search? This has been covered many times before.
But so as not to seem unhelpful, here is a link http://sound.westhost.com/project33.htm

humm still not what im looking for all i want is a relay on a 10sec timer no protection is needed for my amps. NONE!
im thinking about useing a 555 timer ic and make a small circuit for time on and no time off. when the power is turned of from psu relays kick out right away when amp is on 10seconds before speakers are applyed to audio out. j' O : ) |

If it's a simple solution you want, have you tried a thermistor to slow down the surge into your toroids?

JasonL,
I've got a schematic for a simple anti-thump relay circuit on my webpage (look right at the bottom of the page): http://www.apcl43.dsl.pipex.com/proj_subamp.htm You can increase the value of R7 (or C2) if you want the delay to be longer. Nice one, David. |
