Default Kappa Pro 12. Studio sub. Need some help

Hi guys,

I'm an engineer and mixer from Sweden. I work here www.bohussound.com

We have now built a second control room and I'd like to build a super compact PA system so I can blast my ears off.... =)
The room is around 20 sq.meters.

I need two compact and cheap 12" "super subs" that delivers club sound. After some googling I found the Eminence Kappa Pro 12, it's affordable and goes deep.
Kappa Pro 12 specs

I now need some help construction a MDF box that delivers punch and goes fairly deep. Here is my idea of the cabinet:

All other suggestions are more than welcomed.

Cheers,
Lindell

Default win ISD

The program everyone uses is called winISD and is free for private use to download.
Just plug the numbers into it and you will be able to model how deep your sub will play.
If this is one of yours first projects Iwould recomend 90 degree cuts everywhere especially when moving alot of air at high pressure.
You will need to get this thing completly airtight exept for the vents.
i believe that both B&C and Selenium have subplans on their sites and you can always check speakerplans.com for ideas.
Also very inportant is what you will drive theese puppies with.
Since you are on the Swedish Westcoast try to find some nice labgruppen amplifiers for your subs! They are the best.
you will probably be fine start rolling off the bass at 45 hz wich is fairly standard in PA wich generally do not go as deep as hifi.
good luck and keep us posted.
