Default Experiences with Hiquphon OWII or Thiel C23 tweeter?

Who has any (listening) experience with one of the following tweeters:
The Hiquphon OW II or the Thiel/Accuton C23?
I want to build a very good 3-way floorstander, but I am not really convinced by the Seas T25CF002 I am currently using.
Some guys recommend the tweeters mentioned above.
So any comments or suggetions are welcome...

JM

Thanks for the reaction.
Very interesting stuff on the zaphaudio pages.
After seen the measurements, thiel/accuton is not the right choice. So, the battle is between the Hiq OW II and Seas T25CF002...
Any suggestions which one the best tweeter is? I also prefer listening experience because one can not only rely on measurements.

I currently have a pair of the OWII in my car. I love them and that is why I purchased the OW4.

I have noticed that many have used the OWI in their home speaker applications due to its flatter response. That is what I would suggest you try, the OWI or OW4.

I have seen more discussions where the OW I is recommended.
When reading the manufacturer notes on the OW-series, they suggests that the OW II is (little) more detailled.
So, most users appreciate the flatter and smoother OW I.
Interesting...
Still wondering what the audible differences are between OW I and OW II. Does the OW II sound brighter?
Is it your personal preference for choosing the OW I's?
I want a tweeter that's very detailled.

Maybe this review can you help you out a bit.

You may also want to research ribbon tweeters as being an option for you.

Thanks tf1216!
That article really convinced me to choose the OW II's.
Very detailed, low distortion, wide dispersion etc...

Personally I don't prefer ribbons, IMHO carefully selected dome tweeters have more advantages. Compared to the OW II, there is no (known by me) ribbon that can beat the Hiqs.

Hello,

Dave Ellis is sending me a pair of Hiquphon OW4's to test. (objective distortion and response) I haven't tested any of the Hiq's yet.

Generally, I'll take good low end performance over extended top end response and good off axis, but I'm still waiting to find a good 3/4" dome that gives all of it to me. My hopes are high for the OW4.

Make no mistake about the Accuton C23, it's a very good tweeter. It's not the best however, and it's price is not exactly a selling point.

John

Accutone C23 is excellent sounding tweeter. If you look at the measurements made by John @Zaph web site, you can see that it has very low distortions (esp. higher order). The other tweeter with such good distortion measurements is Seas 22TAFG which, btw., is also excellent sounding tweeter.
I've had expirience with many tweeters and Accutone C23 (and C12 even more so) is my favorite dome tweeter. As always in audio, personal taste is major factor here.
