Default Narrow Line array

Building a line array using planar/ribbon tweeters set right in front of a line of woofers interests me due to size issues. Does anyone else know if this is a good idea? Does this just lead to huge problems with dispersion or can it be used to increase horizontal dispersion of the woofer?

There are a couple of commercial arrays that do exactly what you are thinking. One is the Speakercraft Scarlet series and another is the McIntosh XRT2K.

Any interference between lines would be a matter of the specific crossover point. I don't see how you would significantly increase the horizontal dispersion of the speaker.

Those speakers are a very interesting design, but aren't there major issues there with the high frequecy driver positioned straight down the middle of the low frequency drivers?
