Default Ciare tweeters

Does anyone has any experience with tweeters of this Italian manufacturer? Maybe someone made a speaker with them, heard one,or measured one?
I heard that all their drivers are high quality made. I'm particulary interested in HT-262 and HT-264. Can someone compare it to some other tweeter (Vifa,Peerless,Seas,Visaton,Monacor)
thanks in advance

Their tweeters are of medium quality, except of a bullet of some 100+dB which is truly exceptional for some (Pro) applications. They are most transcriptions of other drivers – no know-how behind, though their woofer line is really good.

Could you compare their tweeters to some other manufacturer? Is medium quality something like mediium class models from Vifa,Seas or is it lower?

Hi,

don't know where this medium quality prejudice comes from.
Some of their stuff is ok, some is very good.
Never tried their tweeters, but the cone drivers (mid and bass) are quite ok, good price/performance ratio.

I've heard quite often that Ciare products are ripoffs, but never saw a proof...

So take everything you hear with a grain of salt, if the price is ok for you, try them,
at least their published spec's are real, so you mostly know what you get.

regards
Michael

Vifa and Seas tweeters in the same price category seem to me of better quality. Ciare struggles to produce decent tweeters – eventually they will, but they have not yet, in my experience.
I already said that their woofers are of good quality, dear atarashi, so there is no prejudice for sure. Furthermore they are exceptional for their price tag.
As for proof about ‘rip-offs’, can you prove that most Chinese products are mostly rip-offs? I bet you can’t, in an objective manner. You have to visit some factory or just speak to a chief mechanical engineer and see how they are working, what they know and if every choice comes from a known necessity or it comes just because it has been done elsewhere. In the other hand, my expressed judgment was perhaps superfluous;-)
Regards,
Thalis

I have listened to their HT262 in a successful Blue Note speaker
It was sweet but not exceptional.
This one I wanna try:

I'm sure that this one could be exceptional. It is not in my price range. I'm looking for somethin up to 50 euro per unit. I think i'll try HT 264. Has omeone maybe used Monacor DT28N and can compare it to HT 262 or 264?
Thanks

The Blue Note A3 managed rave reviews with plain Ciare drivers. The 262 was ok but lacked some air and analysis to my ears. The 264 looks much better on paper.
A very good cheap tweeter (Euro22) that I have used you can see

Reading the comparison test is entertaining. Blue Note got best results of all speakers. Most interesting are results in treble region where Bluenote also got best results, even better that Spendors which have Scanspeak unit. Salas, thanks for info. I always liked LS3/5A so this review is precious.

Hi Thalis,

sorry for beeing a bit rude, but a lot of People keep on bashing Ciare, yet most of them never heard a Ciare driver ;-)

Btw. I don't have that much expirience with their Tweeters, mostly use their Midranges and Woofers. The 1" compression Driver is ok, but no match to the very nice BMS Drivers.

I've allready talked to one of the Ciare Guys, and somehow they seem to know what they are doing.

So it seems after all we agree, Tweeters ok, but the rest is better ;-)

Regards
Michael
