What parameters are important to look for when selcting drivers for open baffles?

Many people use drivers with high Qts (>0.6) and small baffles. Even high-Qts drivers will only bring bass when the baffles are large enough. For a dipole-FAST concept with sealed/ported bass you are free to choose.

As long as we don´t know what kind of driver you mean (woofer, mid, treble) it´s hard to give any valid advice. Differences are too big between those regions IMHO.

FAST refers to fullrange speaker plus bass, usually with aubout 200Hz crossover. I didn`t realize this thread is in the "loudspeaker", not "fullrange" forum. You even see Lowthers, AERs and Fostexes in dipoles. The Prometheus, maybe the most successful dipole kit also has a low-Qts wideranger.
However, if you have the size for big OBs you will have an uncompressed bass you don`t get with boxes.
