Default Driver layout

Hi,

I've got some drivers for a 3-way, and they all sound quite nice. Driving them without a baffle "in the garage" they interact pretty well (I hang 'em from the ends of the shelves shelves with pieces of string).

But SHMBO has said that they can't come into the house "in that spiders' web" and that they've got to go in a box (by which I've taken to mean on a baffle).

I've toyed around with some layouts (included - I hope) and would like some opinions before I start the router up. Any opines welcome...

The reason for the 2 mids (in parallel) is to match the efficiency of the ribbon and the mid-bass units.

I don't seem to be able to attach more than one image (and the first one was too wide).

Last one. They all have the same drivers, and the x-over should be fine. It's whether they're going to interact in a funny way (IYHO), or cause weird lobing effects (again IYHO).

Second post, on the left or second post on the right.

Avoid horizontal aligment of the mids.

Cal,

thanks for the response.

I'm leaning toward the second post on the left, as they'll be sitting on 60cm (24") high bass bins and that would put the middle of the tweeter about 111cm (43") above the floor.

(That's why I was looking at the squashed versions with the side-by-side mids - to lower the speakers height).
