Jumping in without checking water depth. I just bought 3 Seas
27BFCG tweets for two R50s and CSI1. Just enough room to install, Polk states 2000hz crossover so I'm hoping just an lpad will bring things together. Is this just wishfull thinking? Am I nuts to try? Regards, rich(in name only) |

Thanks go out to Brian at Madisound for the Seas recommendation and of course John http://www.zaphaudio.com/ and Mark http://206.13.113.199/ncdiyaudio/mark/index.htm for the excellant work. My router skills were rusty - I can't believe the crap that Polk installs as tweeters, although my four surround/rears are R30s and these are crossed over at 2800 which gives them IMO better sound qualities. After installation I check the SPLs and they were the same for the Seas 27bfc/g as they were for the polk tweeter but the sound - smooth as silk with nice air. Started playing CDs I'm very familiar with and the upgrade is worth every bit of the $106.00. I guess I just got lucky. Makes me want to try something else? rich |
