Im building a pair of studio monitor type systems. The enclosure is of bass reflex type. I would like to place the ducts on the front of the enclosure. The woofer is 15 and the tweeter is a horn whose lenses measures 5.1/4x5.3/8. I would like to put the ducts ( 2 X 4 X 7.71) on the front. The information I have reviewed says that there should be 3 4 between any interior surface and the ducts. It also states that the ducts should be the same distance from the woofer as minimums. I could place the ducts in the same plain as the horn. Is there any acoustical reason to not do this? I know the other option is to place them on the rear panel. What distance would you recommend between the woofer and tweeter?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions and feedback.

the woofer and tweeter should be fairly close and vertical.
The tweeter can be offset to the side somewhat.

The port beside the tweeter (or ports either side) should be fine.
