Hello everybody,
I'm trying to select drivers for a project. What's the difference between the Excel (Magnesium) and the Alumium drivers ? example LN18RNX http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/ind...28451&pid=1037 WE18-001 http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/ind....28451&pid=987 I'm looking to stay all Al. or Mag. w/ my drivers.. There is a $100 diff. in cost. Are the Excel driver worth the extra cost or do the Al. drivers have close to performance as the Excel line. Thank you for your help.. Regards, Jose |

Hi,
the differences are mainly in the magnets - extra copper rings, copperplated pole pieces etc. Of course the Excel line are better, but not that much better. So the aluminium line is much better value, performance per $. http://www.zaphaudio.com/audio-speaker17.html |
