Hello everyone, this may seem like a basic question but i can't find the answer anywhere. I'm designing a 3 way speaker using this calculator.
http://www.lalena.com/audio/calculator/apcxover/ I am curious what is Bandpass gain and what is mean't by that term. |

Bandpass gain is the amount that the woofer and tweeter add to the midrange response. There is no simple formula, you need to do circuit analysis to predict it as it depends on slope and midrange bandwidth.
Speaker workshop does the circuit analysis for you, but people aren't kidding you when they say 3-ways are a lot more difficult than 2-ways.... Just becuae you plug the numbers in some dumb calculator like the lalena ones doesn't mean it is going to work. There is driver frequency response and phase to consider as well.
