Default crossover theory

hi guys,

I need your help for some links about crossover theory.
I want to learn more about them, what things can be done
to tweak a crossover, what are their problems regarding
phase combining, advantages/disadvantages regarding topologies,etc.

Any help would be very useful!

what can you say about the transient response of a L-R crossover compared to a cauer filter?
I heard that it isn't audible, at least that's what Rane papers says!
What happens to the phase when you use a notch filter close to
the xover frequency?

as you, i would also like to read up a little more on this.

i have actually contemplated taking a short automotive electronics course concerning electromechanical and electric basics.

though after reading a book and now reading loudspeaker design cookbook i feel as though a step by step explanation of all the terms and affects of electronic crossover parts.

the books i have are great but there's nothing that would equal a good education.

There's a lot of good reading here if you search, and for theory, the Loudspeaker Design Cookbook is good for passive systems, and if you want to go active, you need the Active Filter Cookbook.

those books are hard to get, I live in Romania, and they are expensive too!

google doesn't help a lot, the real information is hidden deep, and it's very hard to find unless you know exacly where to look!

I've searched a lot and still can't find answers to alll of my questions!

Get a book on circuit analysis. If you are able to do algebra / matrices, you cna do circuit analysis using the phasor notation or with mesh current or node voltage methods - see, I just gave you some more search terms
