Modifying Ariels (going active)

Hi Everybody,

I have previously poseted onformation on my Ariels which incorporates the Almighty Subwoofer:
The Ariel as never seen before (incorporating Stig Erik Tangens Almighty subwoofers)

I am now trying to replace the existing crossover with an all active design using BruteFIR on a PC which does all the filtering.

However one worry is that the PC sends out bass signals on power ON. This is also a problem with the AMP6 from 41hz I am using. I am currently consifering different methods of getting around this problem.

I would like to use fairly steep filters (4th order), so my idea would be to use one capacitor for the tweeter and then implement a 3rd order filter using software. This would equal a 4th order filter.

I would be interested in peoples opinions on the matter, also what crossover frequency and cap value should I choose?

If you don't mind me asking, what soundcard are you using, and what are the outputs? Also, what is the user interface that you would use to play songs?
