Default 125mm Drivers

Besides Zaph's tested drivers, there seems to be little information on 125mm drivers.

I am interested in the Vifa PL11Mh and Seas MCA12RC, but have not found much information by searching.

Are there are any other 125mm woofers other than the RS125, L12, WR125, and these two that might be recommended from 300-3000hz?

There is the Veravox 5, which can also be used as a fullranger, but in first line is said to be one of the best midrangers.

I don't see any that are a true 125mm cutout. I already have the baffle cut, and I am thinking about upgrading the 125mm driver already there.

I know! This is a very old thread.

I am just trying to decide between Vifa PL11/ PL14, Seas CA12/CA15 or Dayton RS100/125.

It will be used for a small monitor in 3.5x3.5x2.5m room. The room has excellent acoustic (due to wall covering with polystyrene) so, no need for bigger woofer.

In fact, I want to replace Beyma 5MP60N. Tweeter is Seas 27TDC.

If anyone have used one/more of this drivers I would appreciate your comments.

Have you looked at Zaph's web site? Here. I'm sure you'll find some info there, as well as info for other drivers.

the CSS FR125 (WR125 not available in EU due to RoHS) is also an excelent candidate

Looks good, but since is not available in EU, I will skip it. I have also looked at Fostex 168Esigma but I am not sure the premium price is worth for use in 2way system.

Comparing test data From Dayton RS150, Seas CA15RCY and Vifa PL14 it seems that Dayton is the best driver.
Any reason to pay more for Seas or Vifa? Am I missing something?

the FR125 is available in Europe, this is a full range, but can be used in a 2way as well (example).
the WR125 is the midwoofer version, that is (until the RoHS compliant version is ready) not on sale in europe

Why do you want to replace the Beyma 5MP60N? Is there anything wrong with it, or do you want to try something new?

I want to try something new. And I want a little more details and a little better bass. But I do not want to change to a larger driver.

Beyma is a good driver, but I do not have any other similar driver to compare it. I can compare it with Dayton RS52 at 800-3000Hz. Dayton is better in this range.

I use 5MP60N crossed over at 1800Hz. It is quite good match for Seas 27TDC.
