Hi all,
I need some help here with my first diy speaker proyect: I have a pair of BLAUPUNKT PCx 693 6x9 coaxial speakers and I'm looking to build a portable sound system with them to listen to mp3 music moslty, the idea is to build separate enclosure for each one, and to joint them when not in use, and fit them with gainclone amps inside, so they can run on baterries or transformer. Do you think is posible the proyect or maybe the speakers needs to big enclosures to be a portable system?, any sugestions? thank´s (sorry for the drawing...) |

Perhaps a third box for the amp, a kind of trade-off to keep your enclosures small, yet at the same time a platform or base to join the enclosures when not in use?
A carrying handle on the third box directly above (or below) the transformer for center-of-gravity ergonomic portability? I like your idea of portability. Three trapezoids all connected together...hmm... Dave

Thank´s for your reply, your transmission line speaker's are very inspiring!
thats a great idea (separate amp), because now it's a modular thing and the amp can be used with other speakers in home or any place I´m working the disign in bassbox pro 6, and I found that this speakers are not a good alternative (VAS=38,8liters), so I'm disigning the enclosures now around 5.25" speakers, the BLAUPUNKT TSX542 (http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshow...=267-371&DID=7), they are transparent, soo maybe acrilic can be a good looking alternative... I´m newbie with this software too, I atached some disigns if someone with more experience can help make them better thank´s alot |

You may want to consider a nice 4-inch driver. That way you can get a fair amount of bass response without having to compromise the other parts of the spectrum, especially considering the fact that you want small.
Personal preference may vary... Dave
