Ive been searching the forum for posts regarding experiences with the Tang Band 8 driver (W8-740E to be precise). There are some, but it is unclear to me if anyone has any real experience with the driver.
I am considering using it in a dipole project, 3 per side in series with active xo and eq (F ox 200/250 Hz) . The advantage of this driver is its price and size. I know its low Q requires a lot of eq. but I dont see that as a problem, as I am only requiring moderate SPL. Can these small drivers produce real HIFI?

Are you sure your looking for the "E" version? It looks like you mean the "C" version where there is plenty on this website
The C version goes lower in smaller boxes if I recall correctly

It is in fact the E version; the reason is that a Danish distributor has a good offer
on it. But any general experience on the TB W8-740 series should apply to the E version was looking for that as well.

The rubber surround E version wasn't available at the Canadian distributor so I bought the foam surround C. It's quite a nice little driver. Good depth, nice beefy motor. I use mine with two drones per cabinet so I wouldn't be helpful with your setup. I agree though that the Q being that low it will require huge amounts of EQ.
