Default Proac 2.5 clone port questions.

1. The AI.M web site said that the "port is 140mm long". does
it means that the internal port lenght shoul be 140mm (if the rear wall is 25mm wide, the overall port length is 165mm) or it means that the overall length is 140mm ?

2. The internal diameter of the port should be 75mm. does 76mm
will make any different ?

Default DIY speakers is a lot of work.....

I did not look, but I suspect port length is, well port length. 140mm should be fine. 1mm makes no audio difference.

As for clones, the standard x-over & SS 8513 is a loser as shown in most clones. Try a Seas Excel T25 & the cross-over as used on the ella model 1. www.knology.net/~wesnor/8545kt25.html One should tweak the mid/bass x-over to the very simular SS 8535

The redesigned Pro Ac 2.5 clone with the SS 8535, Seas T25 & x-over with lower x-over point blows the regular 2.5 clone away in the mids & upper resisters- No kidding.....

Default BTW

A Pro Ac 2.5 Response review is at audio asylum in the speaker reviews section. The author says it all. The upper frequencies are basically less than a stellar performer. Same as my findings.
