hi all!
a long time ago i got hold of a pair of broken gauss hf 4000 2 inch compression drivers. now, after lots of work on them, they are back on my system.

problem is: i don't know how to hook them up properly - i don't have any data on recommended xover settings, power rating, frequency response etc.

can anyone tell me where to find those data?
anyone know anything?

thanks a lot guys!

Hi Flo,

The 2" compression drivers from Gauss are basically a copy of the JBL2440 series which were in turn derived from the the old Western Electric drivers of the 30's. The flare rate and other controlling dimesions are largely unchanged. Therefore looking at the 2440 data sheet will give you a very good idea of HF4000's capabilities.

There was also a pair of HF4000's on ebay recently. The seller posted some FR plots that you might find interesting. Item number 7359187910.

Cheers,
Ralph.
