Smile Is there anyone near Essex, UK with a full horn system I could demo ?

Hi,

I'm hoping maybe somebody near me may have a full horn system, or at least midbass and above that I could have a listen to ? I have sub horns and horn tweets, but 80Hz - 1200Hz is hi-eff direct radiators atm. Would like to hear what horn loading does to the midbass / midrange.

I live in North Essex, UK, but don't mind an hour or so drive each way.

Cheers!

Rob.

Hi Rob,
nice idea. How about adding Essex (N?) to your details?
Are you going to ask for a home demo after you've heard them?

I think asking for a home demo would be pushing it a bit.

Maybe if I like them enough they'll give them to me

Hi Rob,

I know it is quite an old thread. I just recently moved to Essex. Were you successful with finding a horn based system? Would you perhaps be interested in a 3 way field coil driver system?

Hi Syco (I think ;D )

Never did find a demo...

I ended up building a close version of the Edgar 80hz midbass horns using the electrovoice evm15l speakers, with the Edgar midrange horns using the JBL LE5 drivers on top. (Topped by a JBL bullet tweeter)

I love the midbass horns but didn't find the midrange ones that captivating.

I sold the midrange horns and the tweeters and am still looking for replacements. The 8" JBL midrange horn thingy (CMCD) has caught my attention but I haven't had time to look into it properly..

Right now my system is a pair of jbl prosound speakers for fun and a cheap pair of missions for the tv.....

Yes I am interested in your system... Don't know much about field coil drivers but new information/ interesting stuff is always welcome .

Cheers,
Rob.
