Hi everyone,

I bought a pair of floor-standing 3-way Yamaha NS-8390 speakers. I'm using them with my home-made tube amp (triode-strapped EL34 PP), which seems to have enough power to drive them.

These speakers are a bass-reflex design. They have a specified impedance of 8 ohms and sensitivity of 89dB. The three drivers are an 8 inch woofer, a 4 inch midrange and a 7/8 inch balanced-dome tweeter. They were not expensive but they seem well-made and they sound pretty good to me, especially the bass.

I was wondering, though, about the crossover frequencies, which are specified as 4kHz and 10kHz. These frequencies seem unusually high to me. Any comments?
