Lpads oxidize
over time, & get scratchy; you probably won't change the setting much after the initial excitement of playing with your new creation; resistors are cheaper.
I have an old pair of Sansuis given to me because the previous owner thought they were faulty; I just replaced the L pad with a resistor & have a excellent pair of speakers for the price of a couple of resistors.
