I am looking for a midrange that can be crossed over 4th order at 600-800hz and 1st order (if possible, could go to higher order) at 4khz.
I have 400 to spend on a pair although I could go higher. I've looked at some standard vendors (Scan-Speak, Eton, Morel, Visaton, Seas), and some BG, but I am usually unsatisfied with either the offaxis, CSD, or freq response measurements (only for the BG). Anything I should be looking at? I've also looked at some full range (Foxtex, Lowther, etc) drivers and found that beaming would be a big concern for me. |

What tweeter are you trying to cross to? Perhaps a dome mid would do well; there is an Usher dome at PE:

I am crossing over to a ribbon tweeter. I am changing the ribbon of my Fountek JP3 to the new neo ribbon so that should allow me to cross a little lower like 2.5-3k.
