I'm planning on building a three way, with dayton reference 5" mid, and reference 8", but wanted your opinions on a tweeter. I'm currently debating between the vifa xt19 and the dayton rs28. The dayton 5" mid, I believe, exhibits cone break up around 1.8k (?), so the tweeter will have to be crossed over pretty low. Which of these two would your recommend. Detail, neutrality, and speed, are most important to me. Thanks

One remark about the ref5", the cone breakup starts at 9khz!
so you don't have to worry about crossing it over that low. I crossed it at 2500hz 12db/oct. And no problems with any breakup or stuf like that. Even 3000 hz with 12db/oct should be ok, above that i would use an LCR to dampen the breakup that starts at 9khz. |

Thanks for the info.
Anyone have any suggestions as to which tweeter to go with? |
