Default Focal 165 W3's with SEAS or CDT???

Hi All,

I'm thinking of purchasing some Focal 165 W3 comps and I'm wondering which midbass/midrange drivers (for rear fill) would compliment them the most. I'm thinking either the SEAS W18's or CDT ES600's or ES-07's - although I'm not really sure since I'm still very inexperienced when it comes to putting together systems. Any other suggestions you might have would be great too.
Thank you for your help!

Jaden

Isn't CDT that mobile audio manufacturer of some coincident speakers? I ask because I think they are intended for infinite baffle use. Not that this precludes them from being used in an enclosure. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has used them as a coaxial/coincident solution, though their drivers and associated crossovers are a bit expensive.

Your question would best be answered at www.diymobileaudio.com

I have to ask why are you considering putting a W18 in the rears when I feel it is a better performer than the Focal midrange. I am also assuming you are talking about a car application.

I used to own the CDT Eurosports 3-ways (yellow ones) and they were ok off of a 2-channel amplifier with some processing capabilities but since going active my system is much better over the my original install.

My suggestion would be to buy a 4-channel amplifier and a fancy head unit and run an active 2-way setup in the front. Worry about rear fill later. You will be extremely happy with your results!
