I am considering building a pair of satelites/subs of some car audio drivers i have and would like some comments from people more experienced with DIY prosjects.
The Mid/high driver: Pic shows Macrom`s 4 inch Integra driver. made by Morel. The cone are driven by a 54mm coil of aluminium wire and 3 stacked ferrite magnets. the 28mm dome have Neodym magnets and have a damping chamber within the magnets driving the bass cone. many will consider this a High end car speaker. Mine have a bass sections from a pair of 58.10 midranges and sound similar, but should have a lower QT making them suitable for use from 200-250hz in a small sealed shamber The Midbass speaker: Macrom 59.17 165mm. made by Morel simulations show a qt 0,71 in a 13L sealed box and -3db at 80hz. It is very tempting too use 2 pcs Hypex Active 3W plate amps with x over modules for 250 and 3200hz for these speakers. Subs Rockford Fosgate RFR2212. this is 12inch woofers with dual 4 ohm 4 inch voicecoils. I have 2 of them and plan too use them in 2 low Q sealed boxes with Hypex HS500 plate amps. Have anyone played with similar combinations? and where the results satisfying? |
