I have a bass rig that has blown 1 of the speakers in the quadbox... right now I can't afford to replace it, and I don't want to put in a substandard speaker.

The speakers are 8ohm and 175Watt RMS... What I want to know is, if I remove the blown speaker and replace it with an 8ohm 250Watt resistor (maybe with a heatsink) would that draw enough current without damging the other speakers.

Has anybody tried this, or got any better suggestions that will take the load and not have any negative effects on either the other speakers or the sound produced by the box.

Need a solution asap... get a gig coming up

Thanks guys
