Post High Quality Speakers

I'm just starting to get interested in speakers.
I'm planning to start a business to help my friend sell speakers.

He generally has high quality speakers he's selling for.
I've checked the prices at retail stores and i see prices online.
There is quite a big difference.

What is the actual cost of producing speakers?
and
How much do retailers usually make on their speakers?

Thanks

The standard retail markup of stereo equipment and speakers in stores is 40% over dealer cost. What it actually costs you as a manufacturer of any product is entirely up to you, how resourceful you can be in acquiring raw components and materials and the cost and efficiency of your factory, wharehousing, etc.

Best not to quit your day job in the beginning of your speaker biz. It will be tough to compete with the big players already on line.
