Default 2-way bipole with midbasses on the sides

I found the link to this manufacturers site ( http://www.perfect8.com/ ) from the Linkwitz homepage. The Perfect 8 has three different models which are all made of glass. The biggest is an OB LS, the middle an OB PS and the smallest of the line is a strange closed box with bipole midbasses on the sides and only the tweeter on the front panel. The Cube cost 12000 euro (one or pair?) so even the prices are on the weird side.

I was wondering if it would be possible or even worthwhile to try to clone the idea of the Cube. How would it sound, how's the imaging? Low or high x-over better? How close to wall can it be placed?

Before I found about this I was planning a small ordinary 2-way bipole. Should I go back to that?

Interesting. I'm about to do a pair of 2 ways using Bandor 50s for the mid/highs and Seas 8" bass units side firing for the low end. I'm planning on crossing over about 300Hz, and using a very slim cabinet (to keep the other half happy).

Were you planning on using one or two sidefiring Seas 8"? Because one of the great things about push-push woofers is that they cancel physical energies, vibrations etc. When the woofers are on the sides there should be absolutely zero front-back axel vibrations which in theory should result in purer high frequency reproduction.

I was planning on a single side firing 8" seas per cabinet, this would give me the option to fire them either 'into' or 'out of' the sound stage to give a rather crude form af bass tweeking.

I couldn't fit a pair of the 8" drivers into my cabinets and if I could they would overpower the small Bandors. I can certainly see the advantage of Push-Push sidefiring drivers from a kinetics point of view, but logistically it just wont fit.
