I would like to know if the crossovers that Parts Express sell are any good. I am thnking about building a set of bookshelf speakers and am very good with wood and everything that goes with construction but know absolutely nothing about crossovers. Any advice would be appreciated.

I assume you mean their ready made generic crossovers. I would highly recommend that you find a existing design loudspeaker and just duplicate it. The crossover is the heart and soul of a loudspeaker, and requires tailoring to the specific speakers used, the size and shape of the box, etc. Parts Express actually has a designer on staff named Darren and he offers plans to good DIY speaker projects using the off the shelf parts. You can probably find a good design here or at Madisound.com

These aren't very good. Crossovers need to be designed based off the drivers and the box size.
