Default It's done!

So, I finished my replica of the Zaph L15/27TDFC (his uses the TFFC) speaker. I used the PE 0.38 cu ft cabinet, but sanded the finish off of the front so I could apply a flat black finish. Now I await the 8-32 screws from PE, because I forgot to order them, so this image uses 1" drywall screws.

Anyway, they sound very good, even though I haven't glued the baffle on yet. One bad idea of mine was to use Goop to mount the xover board. Now, I won't be able to remove it if something stops working at one point...

Also, any opinions about using Goop over hot glue for the xover components? Will the chemicals in Goop eat away at the components (inductors, etc.)?

Anyway, thanks to John Krutke for putting this design together! I've been waiting to find a tight and tuneful 5" system, and this is it!

Regards,
Paul Hanley

Hi Paul,

I am building this spaeker and I having problem to find the .05 MH inductor with .05 Ohm resistence.

Can you tell me where you buy it for your build?

Also did you change tweter padding to reduce out put of TDFC ?

Thank you for information.

Hello Me Kong,

I bought the inductor from Parts Express. The part number is: 266-798. The DCR on it is 0.07. A negligible difference IMO.

Yes, I changed the tweeter padding slightly. I only used a 1.5 Ohm resistor. However, again, it's probably a negligile if even audible difference.

Good luck, it's a great design.

Regards,
Paul

PS: Why isn't my pic showing up? Hmmmm.

Glad to hear you like it.

I can't see the picture either, I just get some kind of strange error. If you want, you can mail it to me and I can host it for you.

John
