Default 7" comparison

I've seen the roundup of 6.5-7" woofers.

Currently using a Seas poly 6.5 driver REX i believe. But like the sound of my Acoustic Energy AE3's a lot which use metal cones. Mainly I wish to add more bass response to blend better in my system.

Considering Seas L18, Dayton RS 7", Usher 8945p and thought about Adire extremis 6.8. Reading leads one to L18 having best sound overall. But also get worried about not using high enough order xover. Planning somewhere around 2000-2500 eithers series or possibly 4th order active.

How is the Usher, too many readings taint one's mind with mention of veing veilded.

Also, another problem is I'd like match for center. So, is there add of shielding "cups" anywhere. Thought I saw some for vifa at Madisound. Or maybe I should just bight bullet and go with Extremis.
