I did a search and found very little information about these.
Does anyone have experiance with any of them? The AC-125 (http://www.aurumcantus.com/Midwoofers/ac-165.htm) seems the most interesting to me, any thoughts from looking at its raw data? |

Aurum Cantus 5" and 6" woofers are really good for mid range and mid-highs. Their bass is deep and musical too, but not as deep as SEAS excel. They are very good to mate with ribbon tweeters at xo frequency above 3kHz.

That's what I was wanting to hear.
Any thoughts about using the 6.5" I linked to with a Fountek JP3/G2Si ribbon? |

The 6.5" should work fine, but personally I would go with 5.5", or match the 6.5" with a larger ribbon like the G3 ribbon in Aurum Cantus Leisure 3 SE.

Well just looking at the specs it appears the 6.5" can reach farther up. I realize beaming is an issue, but my x-over will be at 3.5khz 4th order on the tweeter I suspect....
Also this may be used without a subwoofer and I'd like as large of an SD as possible. |

Again, I don't see any problem. Actually, AC-165 is one of the best 6.5" for midhigh applications. Please post your xo layerout once determined.

I just finished this design. I am not totally sure how the 8 ohm woofer became 4 ohms in the final impedance, LOL. I just kept experimenting until I got it where I liked it.
It's 3rd order L-R on the woofer, 4th order LR on the tweeter 3500hz. http://hilltop.bradley.edu/~bjackson/Combined.jpg http://hilltop.bradley.edu/~bjackson/CombinedZ.jpg http://hilltop.bradley.edu/~bjackson/Network.jpg D2 is the tweeter (G2si), D3 is an Aurum Cantus AC130MK2 (the AC165 just had too of a jagged freq response) |
