Has anybody tried it for their home speakers/subwoofer?
Seems there are quite a few out there at low cost. Is the quality good enough for home audio? |

I've used car audio active crossovers in any application,
car, test bench, home audio. If you use a good brand the circuit design would be the same as any esoteric home product, ie I was using Zapco which uses 55xx opamps. I also used Nakamichi. The good ones have dual rail with switch mode power supplies. |

MTX makes one (car xover with a wall wart 12v supply) and sells them on eBay for $20-$40 usually. under The Stereo Direct.

My main concern is the switched power supplies they use.
Is this something I should be concerned about? |

I've used 3 different brands of car audio x-overs in home audio at various times (Coustic, Phillips and Alpine) all had switching supplies, I had no issues with any of them.

I've used an AudioControl 24XS at home with a wall wart and no adverse effects, though I don't currently do so. (No need.)
However, like all home and car AudioControl gear I've used (admittedly, nothing made in the last 4-5 years) it does have a turn-on thump so I kept it powered on full-time. |

I've used an AudioControl 2XS on a home subwoofer application before. It worked fine and dandy.

Once upon a time I used an active Pyramid subwoofer crossover and it was the most worthless piece of junk I ever put into a car. |
