Default Any recommendations for in-wall 2-way ?

With so many great DIY designs posted for 2 ways, I was wondering which of them might be used with the baffle mounted flush to wall. I am going to install built in speakers for a friend who is remodelling, he wants the speakers mounted in wall.

I know this alleviates need for baffle step in the crossover, but if I chose to use one of the many designs that have been posted, would the extra 3-4 db in the lower mid-range that resulted from the larger baffle really sound that bad?

I do plan to build an enclosure in the wall of appropriate volume.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
