Default Dipoles Completed waiting for Veneer

Hey guys,

Here are the pictures I promised. I'm 99% sure they're completed ... I'm still planning on building an MTM upper panel to test. But I love the sound of the current setup

Forgive the pics, I had to take them pretty late so the light was sub-optimal.

And of course the cat had to get in the picture as soon as she noticed the camera

They sound incredible

I was really suprised how deep and effortless dipole bass is. The h-frame does an incredible job of conveying the weight of the instruments without smearing any of the details.. I think my favorite track the live version of hotel california from hell freezes over. You can really feel the size of the drum as it pressurizes the room and still hear the finite details of the mallet striking the skin...

Hey, I prefer Chris over Noob

Mid/bass is crossed at 315hz.. They're extended range woofers rather than subs which allows me to cross them high enough to take the strain of my midrange..

Upper baffle is 18" tall, 19.5" wide no wings on the upper. Lower H-Frame is 18"wide,30"tall,24"deep interior dimensions..

Hi Chris:
Congratulations first! They look impressive

Are they a Linkwitz-Orion variation, wright? I'm interested because I discovered these just 2 days ago, from one KYW's post.
What amps do you use?

Best wishes
Mauricio

They're not really linkwitz clones of any-type. Their my own design. They are similar to the orion in that they are a full dipole design however I'm using an h-frame unlike the orion's w-frame.

I'm currently using Behringer A-500 reference amplifiers for all channels and a DCX digital cross over. I'm currently building a class-A amplifier for the midrange to see how it sounds, if its comes out as good as I hope I'll replace the tweeter amp as well.

Thanks for your quick reply.

Have you considered Hypex UCD's as amps? They accept balanced outs and the sound is terrific.

Good luck
