i am currently in the final stages of planning my many winter projects ..

I need to know one thing before i continue on though ..

What do you guys think of the Manger transducers ?

I have always been interested into this "driver" and its technology .. have any of you listen to loudspeakers using this driver?

What was your impression ?

I always liked the idea of a 1 way 150hz + system
( i guess we all did .. no phase problems , point source easy )

Do you guys think that this driver is able to match the quality of the very best systems we are doing here ?

my $$$ is not unlimited for my room project ,
but i'd rather spend some money on special drivers
( if the performance is there .. ) than on cheaper
ones, having to result in using 100s of em, wihtout any advantages other than spl ...

I have to say that what i am looking for is low distortion, quality sound reproduction before SPL in my personal room
( wich is quite small beeing 10 by 16 approx )

what i was planning was something like :

W-Frame ( + personal mods to this design )
of either 2 18" ( prolly be McCauley 16hz one )
or 2 time 2 15" of similar capabilities

2 times : 6 to 9 woofers open baffle + some twits
( either ribbons or multiple high quality dome twits )

OR it could only be 2 or 4 Manger drivers
+ the same subs or similar ...

so that is why i need some more information on the manger
performance, since i find em interesting, but wanst' able to located any info at all on this site ..

thanks all :)

another thing ..

with this kind of setup (manger prolly on an OB )
i would require no complicated Xover
i could bring the system elsewhere and connect on their stuff without worrying too much of xover

cause if i go multiple route, i'd have to use my computer for Xo
wich is not quite as easy as it seems for now ..
