Default Seas L15/27TDFC with Hitachi and Jasper Jig

Just to make this somewhat simple for other folks. While trying to route the darn recess for the speakers today using my Hitachi KM12VC and the Jasper Jig, I had to use the 5 13/16" pivot point with a 1/4 straight bit on the outer edge of the recess for the woofer. This leaves you with a little less than 1/16" of space outside the woofer. Otherwise, 5.75" was just too tight. This leaves about 1/16-1/32" outside the woofer flange.

For the 27TDFC, I routed a 4 1/16" recess at the outer edge. About 1/32-1/64" outside the primary diameter of the tweeter flange.

Again, this is using a Hitachi KM12VC and the Jasper Jig. YMMV with other routers.

Anyway, the xovers get put together next while I wait for the port for the cabinets!

Do like some of us lot do and make your own circle jig thats a perfect match for the job.

Takes about 20 minutes to knock one up but you'll get a perfect fit.

Something to consider for the next project I think since I wouldn't go to the trouble of redoing the baffle just for a small fraction of better fitment.

PS. Be careful to allow a little more if your painting or spraying since you need that otherwise the drivers will be a pig to fit.

Thanks ShinObiwan. I considered that, but I have to say that I must be the laziest individual on the planet! Had the baffles been veneered, I would definitely go that route. Certainly next time, because these were PE cabinets.
