Horn-Resonator?

Hi!

I just received the new Monacor speaker-building brochure and they are apparently very fond of "horn-resonators" this year.
It seems to be a mix of bass-reflex and horn, but I dont recall having seen this solution before.

If you guys are interested I could probably make some drawings or scan the brochure.

The question: What is a horn resonator? Can "normal" peolpe "make math" on it, or is black-woodoo-magic? any links?

Hi,

Some would call it a basreflex with a large port, some rather call it a horn with a big rearchamber and short path length. You can simulate as both and get similair results, none of which will be totally correct or wrong.

It's starting to live on most forums now.

What is it good for.. (aint that a song..?)

Forgot one thing: Whats the benefit? Is it as efficient as a horn or more like a bassrefleks-box?

Someone should tell them that the Turbosound TSW-118 is actually a bandpass horn instead of a real bass horn like the EAW LA400.

I've check the Tourbosound data sheet. It is claimed that we deal with a horn loaded sub!
