First off, I want to thank all for a great forum!
I am currently in the progress of building my own speakers, I've almost completed the boxes by now. Unfortunatly, some idiot stole my Digital Cam.. It was not really worth stealing, but that is way off subject.. But, I did draw a simple sketch in Photoshop.. It is better than nothing, at least. The thing that puzzles me, is how to make the boxes look really good. I am very inexperienced with this, as most of the speakers I have made, have been used in cars.. Only thing we did to those, was to glue some carpet onto them... Now, I do not really want to have carpet speakers in my room here.. ;o) So I am hunting for the perfect finish.. Any tips on this matter? We have a great source on how to improve the sound, create perfect sounding speakers, but could not find much on the finishing touch. (it is too booring to spraypaint the whole thing black..) The desirable finish, would be something that looks like Mahogany, but I am open to just about any suggestion. |

For those who is interested in the specs, they are as follows:
Tweeter: Seas H0737 19TFF1 Details: http://tinyurl.com/bct3v (pdf) Midrange: (2 pr box) Peerless SDS134 - 830656 Details: http://www.mamut.com/dynabel/subdet325.htm Bass: Peerless 315SWR - 831857 Details: http://www.mamut.com/dynabel/subdet103.htm The volume of the midrange speakers, is set so that I can change the midrange drivers to Seas H0702 T14RCY/P-H at a later stage. If this will be done, the tweeter also will se replacement, might be changed to one from Morel. |
