My dad has a pair of Cerwin Vega "AT-10" floor standing speakers, in which the surround on the 10" drivers are deteriorating and litterally falling apart.
I would like to replace the 10" driver, in which I need to know the crossover frequency/slope of the CV 10" driver, since we will be using the existing 3-way crossover. I can not locate a PDF manual for these driver, nor can I find anything on CV's website. I did find a set of the "AT-10's" for sale on ebay with the following specs listed (can anyone confirm they are correct?): Specifications: Freq Response: 30Hz-22kHz Power Handling Capacity: 5/125 watts (min/max) Sensitivity (1w at 1M): 95dB Nominal Impedance: 6 ohms Distortion (midband at 96 dB/M, THD&IM): 0.6% Max output level (pair at 3M, full power): 116 dB LF driver VC size: 1.55" Low freq driver: 10" cast aluminum frame Mid freq driver: 5" cone High freq driver: 1" mylar dome Crossover freqs: 400Hz/3000Hz Connections: low resistance push terminals Protection: self-resetting circuit breaker for tweeter Level controls: tweeter, midrange Enclosure type: bass reflex Dimensions: 28.5" x 14" x 13.5" Gross Weight: 40lbs (each speaker) Assuming the stock 10" driver is LP at 400hz, will the crossover frequency and/or slope change if I were to replace the CV 6ohm driver with a new 8ohm driver? Thanks, Dave |

Hi FR, have you thought about repairing your drivers. There are a few sites around that sell kits for most drivers.
http://www.decware.com/newsite/mainmenu.htm Have a look at this site, maybe give them a ring, very helpful Nigel |

I was hoping for an excuse to buy new drivers
I might go that route though, thanks for the link. Dave |
