Hi, i was hopping someone could help me.
I have a 12" speaker in a vented enclosure driven by an alesis ra150 amplifier and have been using it for the base output from my PC but what has been happening is that i keep getting poping sounds coming from the driver at random intervals. This occurs any time wether the signal is loud or quiet. What could be cousing the popping? Thanks for any help Danny (Link for driver info: http://www.bkelec.com/HiFi/Drive_Uni...bsbl12-100.htm) |

A cellphone laying nearby can cause that. Beyond that, it could be a lot of things ... try re-configuring your setup to try to isolate the offending piece of equipment (amp, computer, etc.).

hard to say, you need to be systemmatic and eliminate possible sources of the sound. Is it related to the driver movement? What if another driver is used?

I have tried different setups and the popping sound does not stop. Though sometimes there will only be one pop in certain amount of time or there are several other times.

there might be a loose/dirty connection or a dirty volume pot.

Something else that has been known to cause a pop is a refrigirator. When it switches on and off (the compressor that is) it could cause a popping sound. I would suggest maybe trying a cheap DIY mains-isolation tweak.
