WMTMW, more bass?
I have been debating what type of main I will be building to go with the monstrous sub that is being designed. I have pretty much decided to go with a WMTMW design and had some question and hope there was some input to be had.
The drivers I'm looking at for this are the HiVi M8A (W) [vented] M5A (M) [sealed] and a yet undetermined tweet, but more than likely something of the planar variety. Speaks will be used for HT and Music. Most music is of the party type as I host a couple quite often at my place.
The sub as desiged is a AE AV15 in an EBS alignment. The idea is to have mains that will reach pretty low and have the AV handle really really low duty only
Extension on the M8A looks good to 40hz or so, however I am a severe bass head and originally I had intended on setting the WMTMW on top of another pair of 12" subs, either the Hivi M12, or one of the new PE RS subs. Overkill? Initial calculations leave the response SPL wise pretty flat from the M8As to the AV15. The M8As were calc'd using natural rolloff and the AV15 with a ~50hz lowpass.
I listen to all kinds of music from classical to NIN and Tower of Power but what I really want is a strong 40 - 60hz for the parties as well.
???
Thanks guys!
