That's far from unusual. Look at the Xmax vs Xmech of most pro drivers http://www.partsexpress.com/pdf/290-580.pdf

BTW xmax is +/-30mm for 6.5"!!! Thats nearly as good as the XXX or tumult!

  Just noticed the spider is in a strange place too. My guess is you'll get less rocking with the spider closer to cone. Then again I can see how the opposite may work too since the pole section is fixed at the extreme of each end. |

Never seen those either. By the looks of the cone and front mounting plate they come from the same factory.
